Stansky one of New England's top pitching prospects

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University baseball junior Matthew Stansky (Douglas, Mass.) was named the 16th best New England pitching prospects according to the New England Baseball Journal.

The list is comprised of pitchers that were born in New England. To be on the list, a player doesn't have to play at a New England college.

Stansky is coming off a career year in 2019 in which he went 2-0 with two saves and a 1.11 ERA in 14 appearances. His ERA tied for the lowest in Bryant's DI single-season history. Stansky made 11 of his appearances over the final 27 games of the season, tossing more than inning of relief in seven of those. For his career, Stansky is 4-0 with a 4.74 ERA in 32 appearances.

The Bulldogs open the 2020 season on Friday, Feb. 14 against Dayton in Wilmington, North Carolina.
