Baseball announces 2022 schedule

FULL 2022 SCHEDULE

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Highlighted by a season-opening series at East Carolina and 16 games against NCAA Tournament teams, the Bryant University baseball team announced its 2022 schedule on Monday.

The Bulldogs are scheduled to play 53 games this spring, beginning on February 18 at East Carolina, a 2021 Super Regional team. Bryant is coming off its ninth-straight Northeast Conference Regular-Season title last spring.

No stranger to life on the road, the Black and Gold will spend the first month of the season traversing the I-95 corridor from Rhode Island to North Carolina and Virginia. Bryant's season-opening matchup with the Pirates will be the first meeting between the schools since the first game of the 2016 Charlottesville Regional. ECU won 44 games a season ago, falling to Vanderbilt in the Super Regionals.

Bryant will return to The Tar Heel State the following weekend for a series with Davidson, a program that won 27 games a season ago.

The Black and Gold will then spend the next two weekends in the state of Virginia. A three-game set at Old Dominion, a 2021 NCAA Regional host, is first on the docket. It will be the first time the two programs have met since the 2015 season. Bryant then closes its four-week sojourn with a series at Big South member Longwood.

Bryant will then begin the northern portion of its schedule, starting with a midweek game at 2021 NCAA participant Northeastern and a road game at Hartford.

Following a weekend series at in-state rival Rhode Island, Bryant will face UConn (2021 NCAA team) in the first of two meetings between the schools. Bryant will then make its home debut on Mar. 25 with a three-game series against NEC foe Long Island.

The Bulldogs, however, will play seven of their next eight on the road, with trips to Brown and defending NEC Tournament champion Central Connecticut slated. Bryant will then host URI before heading to New Jersey for three games at FDU.

Bryant will then play nine-straight games at Conaty Park, starting with a visit from Holy Cross on Apr. 12. The Bulldogs will also face Merrimack, UMass Lowell, Northeastern and Sacred Heart during the stretch.

An eight-game road swing follows as the Bulldogs close out April with trips to Mount St. Mary's, Boston College and LIU.

Bryant closes its regular-season with CCSU, UConn and Wagner at home.

The 2022 NEC Championships are scheduled for May 26-29.
