No. 22 Bryant opens three-game series at Davidson on Friday

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The No. 22 Bryant University baseball team faces Davidson in a three-game series this weekend in North Carolina. The series opens Friday night with a 6:00 p.m. first pitch.

Only Friday's series opener will be streamed.

Bryant vs. Davidson

  • Bryant and Davidson will be meeting for the second time at the Division I level. The Wildcats won both meetings in 2010, 6-2 and 4-2.   

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant enters the weekend ranked No. 22 by Baseball America, No. 28 by Collegiate Baseball Newspaper and No. 29 by the NCBWA following an opening weekend sweep of No. 12 East Carolina.
  • The Bulldogs opened the series with a 10-2 victory and completed the sweep with 5-4 and 4-3 victories on Saturday and Sunday. 
  • It was the first time Bryant or an NEC team had swept a nationally-ranked opponent.
  • Logan Allen and Collin Lowe both picked up NEC weekly honors, earning player and pitcher of the week laurels, respectively. Allen went 6-for-12 with three RBI and four runs scored, while Lowe tossed 5.0 scoreless on Friday afternoon. 
  • Bryant's pitching staff allowed just two runs over 14.0 innings of work last weekend. 
  • Derek Smith had five hits and drove in four runs for the Bulldogs, while Alex Lane homered and doubled on the weekend.
