Tuccillo records 5 RBIs in 12-3 at Hartford

HARTFORD, CONN. - John Tuccillo of the Bryant University baseball team recorded five RBIs on a three-run home run and a double in the Bulldogs 12-3 road victory against the Hartford Hawks on Wednesday.

  •      The Black and Gold scored seven runs in the third inning.

How it Happened

  •  The Hawks hit a leadoff triple and then brought home a run on a single up the middle in the bottom of the first inning (1-0).
  • The Bulldogs got runners on first and second with a Hawk error and a walk in the top of the third inning. Logan Allen hit a double to left, scoring one; Matt Smith then laid down a bunt single, scoring a second run. Matt Smith also singled, giving the Black and Gold a two-run lead (3-1). Tuccillo then launched a three-run home run, which was followed up by a solo home run courtesy of Matt Woods, giving the Bulldogs seven runs in the inning (7-1).
  • Lewis Barnum hit a leadoff single, Allen was walked, and Derek Smith walked, leading to an RBI from Tuccillo on a groundout to third-base (8-1). Michael Stellato then was walked with the bases loaded to give Bryant nine total runs in the top of the fourth inning (9-1).
  •  During the top of the sixth inning, Derek Smith was walked and then advanced to second on a wild pitch. Tuccillo then brought Smith home on a double (10-1).
  • Hartford scored their final two runs of the game on a double in the bottom of the seventh inning (10-3).
  • The Bulldogs scored two more runs on a bock and double from Alex Lane to win the game in the top of the ninth inning (12-3).
