Bryant visits CCSU for NEC series this weekend

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University baseball team faces Central Connecticut in a three-game series in New Britain this weekend. The series kicks off Friday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.

  • Lowe was named the NEC Pitcher of the Week on Tuesday after tossing 8.0 innings of one-run ball last Friday vs LIU. 
  • Over his last two starts, Lowe has allowed three runs on nine hits in 15.0 innings.
  • Burrows surrendered three unearned runs over 4.0 innings last Saturday. He has nine walks and 18 strikeouts in 22.0 innings.
  • Frasier has been great his last two outings. He tossed 6.0 shutout innings on Sunday vs LIU and has struck out six in each of his last two starts. 

Bryant vs. Central Connecticut

  • Bryant owns a 41-16 lead in the all-time series between the two schools. The Bulldogs won two-of-three during the regular season last year.
  • The Bulldogs and Blue Devils have also met in the Championship Round of the NEC Tournament the last two years. CCSU has come out of the losers bracket both years to defeat the Black and Gold.

Bulldog Notes and Notables

  • Bryant enters the weekend 9-12 overall and 2-1 in NEC play. The Bulldogs won two-of-three against LIU last weekend and defeated Brown 14-10 in a midweek game on Wednesday. 
  • Alex Lane extened his hitting streak to nine games with his fourth-straight two-hit game on Wednesday. He leads the team in home runs (5) and RBI (14). 
  • Damaurys Rodriguez tied Bryant's DI single-game record with five hits against Brown. 
  • Matt Woods went 2-for-2 with three walks on Wednesday and now leads the team with a .343 average and 10 extra-base hits.
