Bulldogs fall to UMass Lowell on Tuesday
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – UMass Lowell scored 20 runs in the first two innings on its way to a 29-13 victory over the Bryant University baseball team on Tuesday.
Bryant is back in action on Wednesday when it hosts Northeastern. First pitch is set for 3:00 p.m.
Matt Woods posted his first-career multi-homer game and combined with Jake Gustin to go 7-for-10 with six runs scored. Alex Lane hit his 10th home run of the year and finished with five RBI.

How it Happened
- A pair of infield errors aided UMass Lowell to start and Fritz Genther provided the big blow with a grand slam to center to make it 9-0.
- Matt Woods got the bats going for Bryant with a leadoff home run just to the right of dead center. Alex Lane would add a two-run double to right center, a failed pickoff scored a run and Tommy DiTullio brought home a run with a two-out single.
- The River Hawks then scored 11 times in the second and four more times in the third.
- John Tuccillo added a two-run single and James Myler drove in a run with a double in the second.
- Woods hit his second home run of the game to dead center in the third.
- Lane added to Bryant's total with an opposite field three-run home run in the fifth.
