Key Moment

  • McGwire Tuffy fell behind 0-2 in the bottom of the 10th but was able to work a leadoff walk for the Bobcats. He would come around to score on a soft single into shallow left center.

How it Happened

  • Quinnipiac scored four times in the second thanks to just a pair of hits. A pair of singles were followed by two walks and a hit batter to score the first two runs. A fielder's choice ground out and a wild pitch plated the final two runs of the inning.
  • LeVangie entered in the third and proceeded to toss 4.0 scoreless innings.
  • Bryant was able to rally and tie the game, scoring once in the third and three times in the fifth.
  • In the third, Matt Smith walked, stole second, advanced to third on a fly out and scored on a ground out from Gustin.
  • In the fifth, Matt Smith doubled and moved to third on a Woods single. Gustin's second RBI ground out of the day made it 4-2 and Lane delivered a two-out RBI double to make it a one-run game. Derek Smith tied the game with a sharp two-out single up the middle.
  • It remained tied until the bottom of the tenth as Bryant left a runner in scoring position in each of the final four innings. Tuffy's walk in the bottom of the tenth was followed by a sac bunt. Two batters later, Zimbardo hit a soft liner over the leap of Allen at short to bring home the winning run.
