Frasier, Gustin lead Bryant to sweep of Mount

EMMITSBURG, Md. – Logan Frasier tossed 6.0 scoreless innings and Jake Gustin homered twice as the Bryant University baseball team completed a weekend sweep of Mount St. Mary's with an 8-0 victory on Sunday.

Bryant has now won eight-straight Northeast Conference games and improves to 21-20 overall and 11-7 in the league.

Frasier was stellar for the Black and Gold on an early Sunday morning. He scattered four hits, walked three and struck out six in 6.0 scoreless innings. Kyle Rizy added 2.0 scoreless frames and Jared Burrows tossed a scoreless ninth.

Gustin paced the offense with two home runs and three RBI, while Carmine Petosa and John Tuccillo each chipped in two hits. Matt Woods tripled and scored twice.

How it Happened

  • Bryant plated two runs in the top of the first to take the lead. Woods would score on a wild pitch, while Tuccillo would plate a run with an infield single.
  • It remained 2-0 until the fifth. Woods led off with a triple and Gustin followed with an opposite-field two-run home run to left. Two innings later, Gustin crushed his second of the day to make it 5-0.
  • Petosa's second home run of the weekend and third of the year made it 6-0 in the eighth.
  • Bryant closed the scoring with an RBI doubles from Derek Smith and Tuccillo in the ninth.
