SEVEN CHEERLEADERS RECEIVE ACADEMIC HONORS

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University Cheerleading team has been performing their spectacular routine alongside the Dance team during half-time at the Men’s Basketball home games throughout the season.

At the game on Tuesday, February 18th, seven girls received academic honors from the University. The following cheerleaders were named to the Dean’s List: Julia Connelly, Morgann Plante, Lexi D'Angelo, Kylee LaCreta, Corrine Khamphoukeoand Jessica Reid. In addition, Sara Puglielli was named to the President’s List for achieving a perfect 4.0 GPA last semester.

As a special addition to their halftime routine, the Cheer team invited a group of young girls to join them in performing at Tuesday’s game. The girls were very excited to cheer in front of the crowd and even got to wear matching Bryant Basketball t-shirts.

With just a few basketball games left in the season, the Cheer team can begin focusing on fundraising for their annual trip to Daytona, Florida to compete in the NCA/NDA National Competition.

With focus shifting to nationals, the Cheer and Dance teams held a choreography session on Sunday, February 23rd led by a 2018 team alumnus to work on a routine exclusively for their sendoff performance.

As sendoff approaches, the team is also busy organizing sponsors, reaching out to all the New England Cheer/Dance teams, and working on the logistics for the competition occurring on the weekend of April 5th.
