Bio

Assistant coach for cheerleading and dance, Courtney La Russo enters her sixth year in 2023-24. Her primary responsibilities include preparing the cheer and dance team to promote school spirit at all home football and basketball games as well as compete on a national level. Alongside head coach Toni Gravel, in 2019, the two led the Bryant Cheer and Dance team to the squad’s first national championship in program history. 

Courtney began dancing at a young age and has over 15 years of competitive dance experience. In 2008, she was selected to represent the United States at the World Dance Championships in Germany. She began cheering competitively in her junior year of high school. In her senior year, she helped lead La Salle Academy to their State Championship victory in 2012. 

Courtney is an alumn of Bryant university and cheered collegiately from 2012-2016. During her time at Bryant, she held many leadership positions including team Captain and President of the Club Sports Council. 

In addition to coaching the cheer and dance teams, Courtney is certified to judge cheerleading and dance in Massachusetts and Rhode Island. Courtney graduated from Bryant in 2016 with a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing and Psychology. She has focused her career in Human Resources. Courtney and her husband Will (Bryant ‘16) reside in Cumberland, RI.
