DeIuliis Named Women's Rowing Head Coach

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University Assistant Director of Athletics Nick Schleicher announced David DeIuliis as the next head coach of the Bulldog Women's Rowing Program.

"I am excited to introduce David DeIuliis as the next head coach of our rowing team," Schleicher said. "David has an extensive background in the rowing world and numerous stops at all levels of competitive rowing. He has founded new rowing clubs, coach NCAA sponsored programs,  and most importantly competitive club rowing programs. He is very well known throughout the New England rowing scene and I'm confident he will bring the Rowing program to another level. David has a great background with building a tradition around the team engaging with donors, parents, alumni, and most importantly student-athletes. I am thrilled to support and watch Coach DeIuliis take this program to new heights"

DeIuliis becomes the 4th rowing coach in Bryant University history. He has been involved in rowing since the mid-1980s and coaching since the early 1990s. At the collegiate level, he has coached both club and varsity programs over a 12-year span. He has coached for 9 years at the collegiate club level at both Wentworth and Brandeis. During that time, he created the New England Collegiate Rowing League to help support small club programs and provide them with races and a league championship. For the last few months, he has been working at Peinert Boatworks in Mattapoisett, where he has learned the fine art of building rowing shells. Prior to Peinert, he spent nearly two years at the helm of Arlington Belmont Crew Club serving as Head Coach and the Girls Varsity Coach, managing and mentoring a staff of three coaches.

“In my other life”, he states, he worked for nearly 20 years in public relations, communications, and marketing in New England for non-profits and in higher education. He secured media coverage from the local level to the national level including the New York Times and the Today Show. Prior to that, he spent several years in the work of campaigns, elections and state government.

The Women's Rowing team is very excited for a new beginning to see were Coach David will lead them. They start practice on September 9th and will be preparing for a competitive season throughout October.
