Senior Day for Club Tennis is a Success

 

 

SMITHFIELD, R.I.- The Bulldogs had a great weekend against two competitive teams. The Senior Match honored these players:  Andrew Patterson, Nicholas Twohig, Brandon Smith, Andrew Krom, Noelle Ferragamo, and Kenny Pham.

 

Bryant vs. Providence College (25-15)

Women’s Singles (Noelle Ferragamo): 6-5 (5-3)

-          Senior Noelle Ferragamo played consistently, acting as a backboard which gave her the win.

Men’s Singles (Nicholas Twohig): 6-0

Women’s Doubles (Jennifer Forte and Rayna Li): 6-3

-          Rayna Li served precisely and accurately and was a force to be reckoned with.

Men’s Doubles (Brandon Smith and Andrew Krom): 1-6

Mixed (Andrew Patterson and Sarah Oakes): 6-1

-          With Patterson’s serve and Oakes’ forehand, these two were able to win.

 

Bryant vs. University of New England (18- 28)

Women’s Singles (Sarah Oakes): 6-5

Men’s Singles (Joe McManus): 1-6

Women’s Doubles (Jennifer Forte and Noelle Ferragamo): 0-6

Mens Doubles (Andrew Patterson and Nicholas Twohig): 5-6 (1-5)

-          These seniors were a powerful pair, but unforced errors got the best of them. Twohig played aggressively at net and Patterson served accurately.

Mixed (Joe McManus and Anna Torregrossa): 6-5 (5-4)

-        Senior Joe McManus and freshman Anna Torregrossa were evenly matched, but fought hard and were able to come out on top by winning the tiebreaker.
