BULLDOGS PLAY IN THE BIG CAT INVITATIONAL TOURNAMENT

 
 

BURLINGTON, V.T.  The Bulldogs played in the Big Cat Invitational Tournament and competed against Brandeis University and, their host, the University of Vermont.  The tournament was filled with some fierce competition, and although the Bulldogs did not come out on top, they had a great time and are excited to return next year! 

Final Score 

Bryant VS University of Vermont – (15-30) 

  • Men’s Doubles: Mick Gurney and Aidan Costello (2-6) 

  • Women’s Doubles: Kaitlin Aucoin and Emily Ren (2-6) 

  • Men’s Singles: Adam Banspach (2-6) 

  • Women’s Singles: Kaitlin Aucoin (0-6) 

  • Mixed Doubles: Kaitlin Aucoin and Garrett Alonzo (9-7) 

 

Bryant VS Brandeis University – (23-24) 

  • Men’s Doubles: Aidan Costello and Garrett Alonzo (2-6) 

  • Women’s Doubles: Caitlin McCosh and Emily Ren (5-6) 

  • Men’s Singles: Adam Banspach (6-4) 

  • Women’s Singles: Emily Ren (6-1) 

  • Mixed Doubles: Caitlin McCosh and James Burris (4-6) 

 

Game Info 

  • Caitlin McCosh and James Burris fought hard in their mixed match to tie the overall match, but sadly lost in overtime. 

 

Highlights 

  • Kaitlin Aucoin and Garrett Alonzo won in their mixed match against UVM which gave Bryant the opportunity to challenge in overtime, and ultimately, allow Bryant to try and win back some games. Aucoin and Alonzo were able to win three games for Bryant in overtime.  

  • Emily Ren and Caitlin McCosh played together in a match for the first time and were able to come back to tie the match from 2-5 but sadly lost in the tiebreaker by 1. 

  • Ren dominated her singles match, only losing one game.
