RAIN TAKES OVER SUNDAY'S TOURNAMENT

SMITHFIELD, R.I. --  The Ultimate Frisbee Team played at home this past weekend against UMass, Merrimack, URI. Unfortunately, the Sunday games were canceled due to the inclement weather, but Bryant won 2 out of the 3 games on Saturday! 

Final Scores 

• Game 1 vs UMass: 3-13 (loss) 

• Game 2 vs Merrimack: 13-6 (win) 

• Game 3 vs URI: 13-11 (win) 

Game Info

• Ultimate sent one team to the tournament but tried to make sure the younger players were more heavily involved than veterans 

• They started the day very sluggish and had a lot of unforced errors in a loss to UMass 

• They didn't execute very well in that game which led to a very lopsided score 

• The second game against Merrimack went a lot better--high winds meant our defense was very successful at preventing big plays 

Highlights

• Younger players like (freshman) Cole McGovern and (freshmen) Steve Cotreau played very well in this game when they stepped into a leading role 
• In their last game against URI, they used a lineup of more experienced players and jumped out to an early lead 

• URI fought back after halftime but Bryant used their athleticism their advantage as senior captain Billy Gordenstein commanded the offense well
