Football signs 4, completes signing class

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head football coach Chris Merritt announced the addition of four student-athletes to the Class of 2024 during Wednesday's signing period.

The four student-athletes join the 18 that were announced in December.

"We are so excited to welcome these four outstanding student-athletes to the Class of 2024," Merritt said. "It has been an exciting putting together this signing class and these four top it off. I'd like to thank my coaching staff for all of the hard work they put in during the recruiting process and I look forward to having these student-athletes become Bulldogs."

Ishod Finger – RB | 5-4 | 170 | Charlotte, N.C. | Metrolina Christian (Charlotte)

Finger spent the first three semesters of his collegiate career at FBS-member Charlotte … Finger enrolled at Bryant in January 2020 ... Finger appeared in all 11 games for the 49ers in 2019, rushing for 299 yards and five touchdowns on 60 carries … Averaged 5.0 yards per carry … Best game came against UMass as he rushed for 71 yards and two scores … Rushed for 67 yards on 19 carries in four games as a true freshman in 2018 … Named First Team All-State, Union County Player of the Year and Charlotte Observer Offensive Player of the Year as a senior at Metrolina Christian Academy … Rushed for over 2,300 yards and a single-season Union County record 30 TDs … Rushed for over 4,200 yards in his career.

Dontae Lunan – LB | 5-11 | 215 | Miami Gardens, Fla. | Saint Thomas Aquinas High School

Lunan played three seasons of varsity football at Saint Thomas Aquinas … Helped Saint Thomas Aquinas win a state title and be tabbed the High School National Champions in 2019 … Led the team in tackles … Named Second Team Broward All-County.

Dario Esposito – DB | 5-10 | 170 | Fort Lauderdale, Fla. | Cardinal Gibbons

Esposito played three seasons of varsity football at Cardinal Gibbons … Played both wide receiver and defensive back … Posted five career interceptions.

Personal: The son of Angela Marie Vignola and Francis Peter Esposito.

Ethan Gettman – K | 6-4 | 185 | Daytona Beach, Fla. | Mainland High School

Gettman played two seasons of varsity football at Mainland High School … Converted 32-of-32 PATs and 9-of-13 field goals as a senior … Hit a school-record 53-yard field goal … Finished the year with 59 points … Also punted 21 times for 849 yards … Averaged 40.4 yards per punt with a long of 60 yards as a senior … Named First Team All-Area each of his last two seasons … Helped his team with four-straight district titles … Selected to the Central Florida All-Star Team as a senior … Two-time Special Teams MVP.
