Bryant set for pair of NEC matches in weekend play

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University field hockey team competes in a pair of NEC matches this weekend by traveling to Rider on Friday before hosting LIU on Sunday.

Sunday's match will be played at the Track & Turf Complex on campus for the first time since 2016 as the Bulldogs celebrate 20 years of field hockey. Bryant welcomes back alumni for Sunday's game who will be honored in a halftime celebration. The Black and Gold will also celebrate its annual Pink Game on Sunday.

SERIES HISTORY

  • Friday marks the 12th time in history that the two teams have met as the Broncs lead the series, 9-2, after topping the Bulldogs 3-1 last season.

  • The Broncos post a 10-4 overall record and hold a 3-1 mark in conference play. Rider recently topped Hofstra, 4-1, after falling to Fairfield, 2-1, in overtime for its only NEC defeat.
