Jaarsma earns NFHCA All-Region honors

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University field hockey junior Marijn Jaarsma became the first player in program history to NFHCA All-Region honors when she was named to the All-Northeast Second Team on Tuesday.

Jaarsma played in all eight games this spring for the Black and Gold, posting a 2.52 goals against average and a .821 save percentage. She stopped 46 of the 56 shots she faced, including a career-high 15 in the season-opener at UMass Lowell. Jaarsma made six-plus saves on three other occasions, stopping eight at Northeastern and nine against Wagner.

In three seasons, Jaarsma has played nearly 2,500 minutes and has a 2.24 GAA and a .763 save percentage. She's stopped 75 percent of the shots she's faced in two of her three seasons.
