Bulldogs fall to UML on Sunday afternoon

LOWELL, Mass. – The Bryant University field hockey team fell to UMass Lowell, 5-0, on Sunday afternoon.  

Taryn Rauff led the Black and Gold with three shots on goal.

  • UML scored four times in a 10-minute span in the second quarter to take a commanding lead.

  • Q2 - 18:36 - Berbel Rozema opened the scoring on a tip in off a corner. 
  • Q2 - 20:57 - The River Hawks took advantage of another corner, scoring on a rebound.
  • Q2 - 24:48 - Isobel Sargent pushed the UML lead to 3-0.
  • Q2 - 28:32 - Lara Ansaldi scored on a penalty corner to close the first-half scoring.
  • Q3 - 31:40 - Mirthe Gans closed the scoring with a hard drive to the back of the cage.

  • Rauff fired four shots, including three on goal, to lead the Bryant offense.
  • Marijn Jaarsma posted 11 saves.
  • Sydney Swain played the entire 60 minutes.
  • Brittany Gouws made her season debut, playing in 49 minutes.
