Grasso adds Moon, Treacy to Bryant for 2020-21

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University men's basketball coach Jared Grasso has announced the additions of Joe Moon IV (Westland, Mich.) and Matt Treacy (Dublin, Ireland) in the November signing period.

Moon, an incoming freshman guard from the Detroit area, and Treacy, a forward currently a sophomore at New Mexico Junior College, will join the Bulldogs for the 2020-21 season.

Playing a postgrad year at Woodstock Academy in Connecticut after a stellar high school career at Michigan's Westland John Glenn … Holds the career and single-game scoring records at his high school … Mr. Basketball nominee as a senior … Named to the MLive Metro Detroit All-State team and Detroit Free Press All-West team … Three-time all-conference honoree.

Coach Grasso: "Joe is a tough, athletic combo guard who plays with a great passion and intensity. His ability to defend the ball for 94 feet and his offensive skill set fit well in our aggressive style of play."

Playing his sophomore season at New Mexico Junior College after a freshman campaign at Division II Urbana, where he averaged 12.4 points per game and made 54 three-pointers … Added 4.7 rebounds per game for the Blue Knights … Represented the Irish National Team at the U17, U18, U20 and senior men's team levels … Averaged 20.5 points per game on 56.5% shooting last summer for the senior men's team … Won back-to-back national championships as a junior and senior in high school.

Coach Grasso: "Matt is a skilled shooter with size and a great basketball IQ. His work ethic and toughness will make him a great fit in our basketball culture."

Bryant returns to action Friday at 7 p.m. when the Bulldogs host Columbia in their final home game of the fall semester. Tickets are available HERE and the game can be seen on NEC Front Row. Fans are encouraged to wear black to cheer on the Bulldogs Friday night.
