Lin earns second straight NEC Rookie of the Week honor

SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's basketball freshman Benson Lin (New Taipei City, Taiwan) has been named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for the second-consecutive week, as announced Monday by the NEC office for the week ending December 15.

Lin scored a game-high 15 points in Bryant's 69-61 victory over Fordham Tuesday in the Bronx. The win was Bryant's first in program history against an Atlantic 10 opponent and moved the Bulldogs to 7-4 on the season.

The freshman guard is third on the team in scoring at 8.8 points per game and is averaging 13.7 points per game during Bryant's three-game winning streak to open the month of December.

Bryant has collected four of the first six NEC Rookie of the Week selections in 2019-20, as Charles Pride (Syracuse, N.Y.) earned the award November 11 and 25 before Lin took home the honor the last two weeks.

Bryant returns to play Saturday when the Bulldogs face Dartmouth in Hanover, New Hampshire. The noon tip can be seen locally on NESN and outside of New England on ESPN+.
