Elisias, Green III and Pride named captains

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head men's basketball coach Jared Grasso announced Hall Elisias, Michael Green III and Charles Pride as captains for the upcoming 2020-21 season on Tuesday.

The trio was selected by a vote of their teammates and managers.

"All three are veteran guys who know the standards and culture of our program," Grasso said. "These three young men are gentlemen on campus, conscientious in the classroom, and lead by example with their work ethic, as well as vocally, on the court."

Elisias is the elder statesmen of the group as he enters his redshirt senior season. A difference-maker in the paint, Elisias posted one of the best shot-blocking seasons in program history last winter. He blocked a DI single-season record 78 and finished third nationally in KenPom block percentage (14.0%).

Green III is the reigning NEC Rookie of the Year and is part of a prominent contingent of youth on this year's roster. A starter in 20 games as a true freshman, Green III will enter his second season with veteran credentials. He finished the year ninth in the NEC assists and first among league rookies, while also adding 15 double-digit scoring performances.

Pride enjoyed just as explosive of a debut season last winter, finishing with 8.2 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game and 1.7 assists per game. A four-time NEC Rookie of the Week, Pride posted 12 double-digit performances, including 22 against Rutgers, the most by a Bryant freshman against a major-conference opponent.
