Bryant, Stony Brook canceled on Wednesday
SMITHFIELD, R.I. — The Bryant University men's basketball team's scheduled season opener against Stony Brook on Wednesday has been canceled.
The decision stems from a positive COVID test among an unaffiliated Tier I individual who had possible contact with the Stony Brook team. Out of an abundance of caution, both teams mutually agreed to cancel the game.
Tier 1 individuals, which include game participants, staff and officials, undergo testing three times a week.
Bryant will now open its season at Syracuse on Friday, November 27 at 3:00 p.m. The game will air on the ACC Network.
Wednesday's women's basketball season opener is still on as scheduled. The Bulldogs tipoff the season against Massachusetts at 3:30 p.m. in the Chace Athletic Center.
