Bryant opens season Tuesday night vs Fisher

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's basketball team opens its 60th season of collegiate basketball on Tuesday night when it hosts Fisher at the Chace Athletic Center. Tip is set for 7:30 p.m. 

Tuesday's game will be the second of a season-opening doubleheader with the women's basketball team. The game will be streamed on NECFrontRow.

COVID 19 PROTOCOLS
Bryant Athletics announced revised COVID-19 policies for the upcoming basketball season. Indoor masking is NOT required for fans to attend games at the Chace Athletic Center, however masking WILL BE REQUIRED for all fans and game personnel sitting within six feet of the basketball court.  This includes all courtside ticket holders, scorer's table and personnel, and media members. All unvaccinated spectators are required to wear a mask at all times. 

NEW TO THE CHACE ATHLETIC CENTER
Fans at the Chace Athletic Center will be treated to a few new additions from the last time they were able to attend in 2019-20. State-of-the-art Daktronics video boards are now installed in the arena, with one on each end of the court. Fans will be treated to new in-game entertainment and high-quality video board content. 

Also, fans 21+ will be able to purchase beer at all home men's and women's basketball games this year. 

THE SERIES
Monday will mark the first time that Bryant and Fisher will meet on the court.

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant went 10-1 at home last season, it's best home record in DI program history. The Bulldogs opened the season with 10-straight wins at home. 
  2. Peter Kiss, Bryant's leading scorer a year ago, was named to the Lou Henson Award Preseason Watch List. The award is given to the mid-major player of the year. Kiss averaged 16.6 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 3.2 apg and 1.8 spg. 
  3. The Bulldogs return four players that started 16+ games and six players that played in 17+ games. Bryant also brought in four transfers that all played at least 15+ minutes per game at their respective schools.
  4. Jared Grasso is 40-44 in his first three seasons at Bryant. The Bulldogs have won 15 games in each of the last two seasons, just the second time they've accomplished that feat at the Division I level.
  5. Bryant was one of the nation's most exciting teams in 2020-21, finishing the season ranked fourth nationally in scoring per game and sixth nationally in tempo.
