Bulldogs fall to No. 15 Houston on Friday

HOUSTON, Texas – The Bryant University men's basketball team fell to No. 15 Houston, 111-44, on Friday night at the Fertitta Center.

Chris Childs led the Black and Gold with 13 points, while Hall Elisias chipped in nine points and six rebunds. Peter Kiss also finished with nine points and added three assists. Greg Calixte chipped in six points and three boards.

• Bryant made it a six-point game with a 9-0 run but the Cougars outscored Bryant 32-7 the remainder of the first half.      

How it Happened

• Houston came out strong on Friday night, dominating the paint to build a 20-5 lead with 13:33 to go in the first half.
• A two-handed slam from Elisias helped turned the tide, sparking a 9-0 run to bring the Bulldogs within six, 20-14. Childs converted a four-point play and Kiss followed with a transition three to cap the run.
• Houston answered with a 17-2 run to make it 37-16 with 5:34 left in the half.
• Childs stunted the run with a three from the right wing.
• The Cougars, however, ended the half on another 15-2 run to take a 52-21 lead into the break.
• Bryant got six points apiece from Childs and Calixte in the second half.

• Bryant finished 17-of-62 (27.4 percent) from the field, 6-of-33 (18.2 percent) from three and 4-of-9 (44.4 percent) from the line.
