Kiss, Pride and Eleeda lead Bryant past UNH

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Peter Kiss, Charles Pride and Adham Eleeda combined for 57 points to lead the Bryant University men's basketball team to a 76-59 victory over New Hampshire on Wednesday night at the Chace Athletic Center.

Kiss and Pride finished with double-doubles, while Eleeda made six three-pointers as the Bulldogs won for the second-straight time against the Wildcats. Kiss had 23 points and 10 boards, Pride had 16 and 10 and Eleeda posted 18. Greg Calixte chipped in eight points and nine rebounds.

  • Trailing 27-24 late in the first half, Eleeda gave the Bulldogs the spark they needed, scoring 12 points as part of a 16-9 Bryant run.        

How it Happened

  • Bryant punched first on Wednesday, scoring the first four points and prompting a UNH timeout.
  • The Bulldogs would stretch it to a 10-2 run before the Wildcats tied it at 15-15 on a Jayden Martinez with 11:12 left.
  • Luis Hurtado Jr. followed with a three of his own and Calixte finished off a lob from Kiss to make it 22-17.
  • UNH would take a 25-24 lead on back-to-back threes with 8:50 left.
  • The Wildcats would hold a 27-24 lead as the Bulldogs went without a field goal for 5:34.
  • Eleeda stopped the skid, drilling a three from the left wing to tie the game at 27. He gave Bryant the lead on the next possession, swishing a three from the same spot. Eleeda's third three of the half came with 50 seconds left and made it 37-31.
  • Eleeda kept the momentum going in the second half, knocking down a three to make it 40-36.
  • The Wildcats would retake the lead, however, before Kiss knocked down a three from the top to give Bryant the lead back.
  • Eleeda was at it again with 14:48 left, knocking down a corner three right in front of the Bryant bench.
  • Three-straight points from Tyler Brelsford and back-to-back buckets from Kiss made it 54-45 with 11:59 remaining.
  • Eleeda had the dagger with 7:22 left, hitting a fall-away three from the far corner to make it 66-54.
  • Calixte then put the exclamation point on it, dunking an extra-effort play from Pride moments later.

  • Bryant finished 30-of-59 (50.9 percent) from the field, 8-of-22 (36.4 percent) from three and 8-of-12 (.667) from the line.
  • Bryant outrebounded UNH, 45-25.
  • The Bulldogs posted 16 assists and finished with 38 points in the paint.
  • Kiss led all scorers with 23 points and grabbed 10 boards.
  • Pride posted 16 points, 10 rebounds and three assists.
  • Eleeda finished with 18 points on 6-of-8 shooting from three. He added six boards.

  • Bryant now owns a 6-4 lead in the all-time series with UNH. The Bulldogs have won the last two.

  • Bryant improved to 10-1 when allowing less than 70 points over the last two seasons.
  • Kiss scored in double figures for the 27th time in 30 career games as a Bulldog. It is the 55th double-figure scoring game of his career.
  • Kiss posted 20+ points for the third time this year and the 16th time in his Bryant career. His double-double was the fourth of his Bryant career.
  • Elisias blocked three shots and has at least three swats in seven games this year.
  • Eleeda's 18 points are his most as a Bulldog and tied his career high. The six threes also tie his career high.
  • Pride posted his third double-double of the year and the ninth of his career. He had double-digit rebounds for the 12th time in his career.
  • Calixte's nine rebounds were a season high.
