Bryant hosts CCSU Wednesday in NEC Quarterfinals

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The top-seeded Bryant University men's basketball team welcomes ninth-seeded Central Connecticut to the Chace Athletic Center on Wednesday night for the 2022 Northeast Conference Quarterfinals. Tip is set for 7:05 p.m.

The winner of Wednesday's game will advance to the NEC Semifinals on Saturday, March 5.

THE SERIES
Bryant is 16-11 against CCSU at the DI level, having won each of the last four meetings. Bryant won both meetings this season, 80-76 and 75-61. In the most recent meeting, Peter Kiss scored 36 points in front of a raucous Chace Athletic Center.                

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant enters Wednesday as the No. 1 seed in the NEC Tournament for the first time ever. The Bulldogs claimed the regular-season title on Saturday with a 78-70 victory over Wagner. Bryant's 19 wins are tied for the most in a single-season in DI program history. 
  2. Peter Kiss enters Wednesday as the nation's leading scorer with 25.1 points per game. Kiss has scored 25+ points in 12 of his last 14 games and his nine 30-point games are the most in the country. 
  3. Charles Pride is second on the team in scoring with 17.8 ppg. He ranks fourth in the NEC in scoring and first in rebounds with 8.3.   
  4. Kiss and Pride are the nation's highest-scoring duo, averaging 42.9 ppg.    
  5. Hall Elisias returned to the starting lineup on Saturday and posted 19 points. He scored 12 of his 19 in the second half. It was the most he scored since posting a career-high 25 against CCSU back on Dec. 29.
