Bryant faces Wagner in NEC Championship Tuesday night

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The top-seeded Bryant University men's basketball team hosts second-seeded Wagner College in the Northeast Conference Championship on Tuesday night at the Chace Athletic Center. Tip is set for 7:05 p.m. on ESPN2.

The winner of Tuesday's game will receive the NEC's automatic bid to the 2022 NCAA Men's Basketball Championships.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Wagner have split 24 all-time meetings heading into Tuesday. It will be the first time the teams meet in the NEC Tournament. The Bulldogs and Seahawks split their regular-season series, with each team winning on their home court. Bryant earned a 78-70 victory over Wagner on Feb. 26 to secure the NEC Regular-Season title and the right to host Tuesday's championship game.                 

FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

  1. Bryant is the No. 1 seed in the NEC Tournament for the first time ever. Bryant's semifinal win on Saturday marked the second-straight year Bryant has won a home semifinal game. The Bulldogs will be hosting the NEC Championship for the second-straight year.   
  2. Peter Kiss enters Tuesday as the nation's leading scorer with 24.7 points per game. Kiss has scored 20+ points in 11 of his last 12 and leads the nation with nine 30-point games.  
  3. Charles Pride is second on the team in scoring with 18.2 ppg. He ranks fourth in the NEC in scoring and first in rebounds with 8.3. He recorded a double-double in the NEC Semifinals, finishing with 24 points and 10 rebounds.    
  4. Kiss and Pride are the nation's highest-scoring duo, averaging 42.9 ppg.    
  5. Bryant is 13-1 at home this season and 23-2 at home over the last two years. Each of Bryant's last three home games have been played in front of a sellout crowd.
