FULL RELEASE

BOSTON -- Bryant University men's basketball senior guard Charles Pride has been named to the College Insider Lou Henson Award Watch List, the organization announced on Tuesday.

Pride's inclusion on this list marks the third-straight year the Black and Gold have had a player named to the watch list. The Lou Henson Award is given annually to the top mid-major player in college basketball.

A Syracuse, N.Y., native, Pride is averaging 17.0 ppg, 7.2 rpg and 2.4 apg to start the season. Pride has been hot from beyond the arc to start the year and is currently 12-of-24 (.500). He made 11-of-21 from three in Bryant's three games in Florida, including a season-high five in a 28-point performance against FAU. Pride is also chasing history this season and is one of just two players in DI program history with 1,000 points and 500 rebounds. With seven more assists, he'll become the first player in DI program history with 1,000pts/500reb/200ast.

The award marks the second honor for Pride this season. He was named to the Preseason Jerry West Award Watch List, given annually to the best shooting guard in college basketball. Pride is the only player in school history to be named to the Jerry West Award watch list.

Pride and the Bulldogs return to the court on Saturday afternoon when they face Pride's hometown team, Syracuse. Tip is set for 4:00 p.m. at the JMA Wireless Dome.
