BRYANT ALUM SCOTT CONGDON QUALIFIES FOR U.S. AMATEUR CHAMPIONSHIP

HINGHAM, Mass. – A second-place finish at a qualifying event at the Boston Golf Course from Bryant University alum Scott Congdon ’09 will send the former Bulldog golfer to his first U.S. Amateur Championship on August 23-29.

SOMERSET, NJ – A total of 65 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, including nine earning Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction. In addition, men’s tennis junior Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) and women’s tennis senior Chelsea Downing (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) were recognized as NEC Spring Scholar-Athletes for 2010.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – After arguably his best season in a career matched by few others in the history of Bryant University golf, senior Jason Thresher (West Suffield, Conn.) capped off a long list of postseason honors Wednesday afternoon, being named a PING Division I All-Region selection by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA).
