Hahn records an eagle as Bryant finishes in a tie for sixth

SIMSBURY, Conn. – The Bryant University men's golf team finished in a tie for 6th at the Ryan T. Lee Memorial Collegiate, held in Simsbury, Conn. at the Hop Meadow Country Club.

Senior Connor Henderson (Southborough, Mass.) registered one birdie and 14 pars to finish with a 2-over par 74, while junior Nick Piersall (Portland, Conn.) carded a 3-over par 76 with three birdies through Round 2.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • Henderson recorded his one birdie of the day on the par-4 8th hole, where he bogied yesterday. Along with the birdie, he finished the day with 14 pars and three bogeys, which landed him tied for 12th place overall with a 2-over par 72-74/146.
  • Piersall came out strong, ending the front nine 1-under par. Three bogies on the back nine put him in a tie for 17th place overall with a 3-over par 72-75/147.
  • Sophomore Tyler Hahn (Avon, Conn) posted an eagle on the par-5 17th hole, ending the day with a 3-over par 75. Hahn finished the tournament 8-over par 77-75/152, tied for 41st place.
  • Senior Matthew Stafford (Suffield, Conn.) also tied for 41st place, ending the second round with a 7-over par 79.
  • Senior Mario Wilson (Taunton, Mass.) finished the day at 4-over par 76, putting him in a tie for 52nd place with a 9-over par 77-76/153.
  • Freshman Jonah Klaasen (Westlake Village, Calif.), who competed as an individual, had a seven stroke improvement from Round 1 finishing the tournament tied for 70th place with a 15-over par 83-76/159.
