Dan Keating named Bryant volunteer assistant

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Bryant University head men's lacrosse coach Mike Pressler has announced the hiring of veteran NEC assistant Dan Keating as the Bulldogs' volunteer assistant coach.

"I am thrilled to welcome Dan on board as our new full-time volunteer assistant coach," said Pressler. "He brings with him a wealth of coaching experience at the Division I level and is one of the brightest offensive minds in our game today. He's an incredible teacher of the fundamentals, and his loyalty, work ethic and strength of character are second to none. He will be extremely valuable for our players as we begin preparations this fall for the 2020 season."

Keating spent the 2019 season as an assistant at Stockton University, where he helped lead the Ospreys to an 18-3 mark and its first NCAA Tournament appearance. Keating coached the CSAC Player, Rookie and Defenseman of the Year and two USILA All-Americans during the 2019 campaign.

Prior to his time in New Jersey, Keating was on the staff at NEC foe Saint Joseph's from 2012-18, serving as associate head coach and offensive coordinator. Saint Joseph's won 50 games in Keating's final five seasons on Hawk Hill and captured five consecutive NEC regular season championships. Keating worked with three NEC Offensive Players of the Year, an NEC Player of the Year and conference Rookie of the Year during his time in Philadelphia.

Keating began his Division I coaching career at Lehigh in the 2011 season, where he helped the Mountain Hawks offense to lead the Patriot League in scoring. He began his coaching career in the Philadelphia-area prep ranks, leading St. Joseph's Prep and Malvern Prep before his time at Lehigh.

A 1999 graduate of Duke with a Bachelor of Arts in History, Keating appeared in an NCAA Semifinal and two NCAA Quarterfinals playing for Coach Pressler. He earned a Master of Science in Secondary Education from Saint Joseph's in 2009.

Bryant begins its 2020 season Sunday, Feb. 10, at Beirne Stadium. The full 2020 schedule will be announced later this fall.
