Bulldogs tabbed third in NEC Preseason poll

SOMERSET, N.J. -- The Bryant University men's lacrosse team has been picked third in the Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches' Poll announced on Monday by the league office.

Bryant was one of three teams to receive multiple first-place votes, collecting two. Hobart was picked first with four first-place votes, while Saint Joseph's edged the Bulldogs and also received two. Mount St. Mary's, Sacred Heart, Merrimack, Long Island and Wagner round out the poll.

The Black and Gold have won a league-record five NEC Tournament titles, claiming four-straight from 2012-2015. Bryant won its last league title in 2017.

Bryant opened its 2021 season last Saturday, defeating in-state rival Providence 9-8. The Bulldogs face No. 20 Stony Brook this weekend on Long Island. Faceoff is set for 12:00 p.m.
