Bryant, Merrimack meet Saturday afternoon

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The No. 20 Bryant University men's lacrosse team travels to North Andover, Massachusetts, on Saturday to face Merrimack.

THE SERIES
Bryant and Merrimack will be meeting for the second time this season. The Bulldogs posted a 20-8 victory over the Warriors on March 6. Logan McGovern registered seven points (4g, 3a) and Aidan Goltz recorded four goals in the win. Bryant now owns a 9-5 lead in the all-time series.   

SCOUTING THE WARRIORS
Merrimack enters the weekend at 2-3 overall and 1-2 in the NEC. After their game with Bryant, the Warriors defeated Wagner (11-5) before falling to St. Joseph's (9-7). Jack (18 points) and Tommy (17 points) Rooney pace the Merrimack offense.   

BRYANT NOTES AND NOTABLES

  • The Bulldogs enter the weekend at 4-1 overall and 2-0 in NEC play.
  • Bryant is off to its best start in DI program history and is ranked No. 20 in the most recent US Lacrosse Magazine poll.
  • The Black and Gold have allowed less than 10 goals in each of their last two games. 
  • Bryant is led by Logan McGovern who has nine goals and nine assists. 
  • Bennett Abladian is second on the team with 16 points (9g, 7a), while Jake Buonaiuto leads the team with 10 goals.
  • Jon Miller, LaJhon Jones and Ryan Baker all have 10+ ground balls collected.
