Men's Lacrosse announces 2022 Schedule

SMITHFIELD, R.I. -- The defending Northeast Conference champion Bryant University men's lacrosse team announced its 2022 schedule on Thursday afternoon.

Bryant will play 14 games, with seven at home and seven on the road. The Black and Gold will also face a pair of first-time opponents in Bellarmine and Air Force. The 2022 season is scheduled to get underway on Feb. 12 at Providence College. Bryant is coming off a 9-4 season that saw them win the NEC Tournament title for the sixth time in program history. The Bulldogs went on to compete in the NCAA Tournament for the fifth time.

"With final exams set to begin next week and the New Year on the horizon, it is my pleasure to announce the 2022 Bryant University men's lacrosse schedule," head coach Mike Pressler said. "There are 14 total games with the theme being balance. We'll play seven games each at home and on the road and will play seven non-league games against programs from six different conferences. The highlight of our schedule are the seven NEC games that will determine our regular-season champion. In '22, the NEC will be as competitive and wide open as ever before. For our entire team, January 17 and the start of preseason mini-camp can't come soon enough."

The Black and Gold open the season with Providence for the second-straight year. Last season, Bryant posted a 9-8 victory to improve to 8-4 against the Friars at the Division I level. A trip to Boston will follow as the Bulldogs look for their second-straight win against the Terriers.

Bryant will open it's seven-game home schedule the following weekend as Dartmouth comes to Smithfield. It will be a quick turnaround for the Black and Gold as first-time opponent Bellarmine comes to town on Tuesday, Mar. 1. Bryant closes its busy week with a trip to 2021 NCAA Tournament participant Vermont.

The Bulldogs will then bookend spring break with home games. Bryant will host Air Force on Mar. 12 before opening NEC play on Mar. 19 against Merrimack. Bryant closes the month of March at Hobart, its semifinal opponent from 2021.

Bryant alternates home and way games for the month of April. The Bulldogs open the month with LIU at home before heading to Philadelphia for an NEC Championship rematch with Saint Joseph's. Bryant will then host Sacred Heart and travel to Mount St. Mary's before traveling to in-state rival Brown on Apr. 26.

The Black and Gold close the regular season on Apr. 30 at home against Wagner. The 2022 NEC Championships begin the following Wednesday, May 4.
