Bio

Casey Brodersen completed his 12th season on the Bryant University men's lacrosse coaching staff in 2022 and eighth in the role of associate head coach.

Brodersen has helped guide the Bulldogs to unparalleled success over the past 12 years, including six Northeast Conference titles, five NCAA tournament appearances and a trip to the NCAA Quarterfinals in 2014.

Bryant featured another stout unit down the middle in 2022. Under Brodersen's watch, Bryant's top three defensive long poles (Brody Rule, Tanner Alexander and Drew Lucas) all earned All-NEC honors, while faceoff specialist Jacob Alexander was named to the second team. Alexander posted eight games of 50 percent or better at the X.

The 2021 season saw Bryant's return to dominance as the Black and Gold posted their best start in DI program history and went on to win their sixth NEC title. Bryant's outstanding season was aided by outstanding faceoff specialists Jacob Alexander and Nathan Laliberte. Two of the nation's top underclassmen faceoff men, Alexander and Laliberte combined to win the X against the USILA's Second Team, Third Team and Honorable Mention All-Americans. Alexander won 30 faceoffs against LIU, the third-most in NCAA DI history, and then went on to win 17-of-30 in the NEC Championship and 16-of-27 in the NCAA Tournament.

Bryant's defense also shined in 2021, finishing the season ranked fourth nationally in ground balls per game (35.85) and seventh nationally in man-down defense (.733).

LSM Zach Coffey earned a spot on the last two All-NEC teams (2018, 2019) and was a Senior CLASS Award nominee before the 2020 season was cut short by the Coronavirus pandemic. Dante Pasqualoni was one of the nation's top players in caused turnovers before the abrupt ending to the season.

The Bulldogs featured one of the best faceoff specialists in the nation in 2015 in three-time All-American and three-time NEC Player of the Year Kevin Massa. Guided by Brodersen, Massa became the school's first-ever First Team All-America selection in 2014 and left the collegiate ranks in 2015 with an impressive seven NCAA records, including all-time Division I marks for career ground balls, ground balls per game and face-off wins.

Bryant's success at the face-off X continued into 2018, as Kenny Massa ranked second in the nation in ground balls per game and fourth in face-off percentage to earn a USILA All-America nod.

Under Brodersen's tutelage, the Bulldogs' man-down defense has also been a mainstay in the national rankings, spending four-straight seasons ranked in the country's top-10 from 2012-15. Bryant's entire team defense has ranked 12th or better in five of the last eight seasons with two years placing fifth in the nation (2014, 2017).

Brodersen arrived in Smithfield after a stint at Springfield College in Springfield, Mass., where he served as an assistant coach during the 2009-10 academic year. At Springfield, Brodersen was an offensive assistant, working specifically with the midfield, and managed all faceoff responsibilities for the Pride, coaching the team's starting specialist to a 2010 All-American selection and a Pilgrim League Player of the Year nod. He coached another All-American in the midfield as well, with three of his players earning all-league distinctions.

Off the field, Brodersen was in charge of all aspects of film review and exchange and maintained responsibilities in recruiting, scouting, player evaluation, scouting reports and team mailings.

Brodersen was a standout midfielder at Keene State in Keene, N.H., from 2005-09. The 2009 team captain and MVP, he was named a First Team All-Little East selection as a senior and was a four-year Keene State All-Academic Team selection. Brodersen graduated in 2009 with the Owls' all-time program record for ground balls in a game (13), season (83) and career (157).

Brodersen has also been a lacrosse camp coach since 2006, working such camps as the Blue Chip Lacrosse 225, Peak 200 Lacrosse Camp and Next Level Day Camp.

A native of Derry, New Hampshire, Brodersen graduated from Keene State in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in History.
