DaCosta honored as NEC Player of the Week
SOMERSET, N.J. – Bryant University men's soccer senior Alex DaCosta (Bristol, R.I.) has been selected as Northeast Conference Player of the Week, as announced Tuesday by the NEC office.
DaCosta tallied all three of Bryant's goals in a 1-1 week in Pennsylvania for the Black & Gold. The senior transfer scored twice in Bryant's Friday victory at Robert Morris, including an overtime winner in the 94th minute. DaCosta added his sixth goal of the year Sunday in the ninth minute at Saint Francis U.
With 17 points on the year (six goals, five assists), DaCosta enters Friday one point shy of Brett Larocque's Division I program single-season record of 18 in 2013. The weekly honor is DaCosta's second of the season.
Bryant returns to action Friday night when the Bulldogs face St. Francis Brooklyn at 7:30 p.m. at Brooklyn Bridge Park.
