Men's soccer clinches spot in 2019 NEC Tournament

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's soccer team is headed to the 2019 Northeast Conference Tournament for the second-straight year and the fourth time overall.

Bryant clinched a spot in the tournament, which will be held Oct. 15 and 17 at the highest seed, with a 1-0 victory over Fairleigh Dickinson on Friday.

Merrimack College, Bryant's opponent next Sunday, has clinched the regular-season title but is ineligible for the tournament as it transitions from Division II to Division I. The Black and Gold can finish second or third in the standings depending on next Sunday's results.

Bryant is currently 8-6 overall and 5-3 in the NEC. The Bulldogs' eight wins are the second-most in a single season in DI program history.
