Resendes announces the addition of five mid-year transfers

SMITHFIELD, R.I. - Head coach Ruben Resendes of the Bryant University men's soccer team announced the addition of five transfers for the upcoming season. The transfers come from Franklin Pierce, Monmouth, Coastal Carolina, and San Diego State. Resendes is excited to add these players to the team.

 "We're excited to strengthen the team with this group of 5 mid-year transfers. Each of the guys joining us have a really strong soccer background and college playing experience at competitive programs. All share the same motivation to want to improve every day and compete for championships", said coach Resendes. "Most importantly, they're high-character guys who will fit right in and positively add to the culture of our program both on and off the field straight away"

 Pablo Ablanedo | Center Back | Gijon, Spain | Franklin Pierce

Before Bryant: Ablanedo is a junior transfer from Fraklin Pierce... As a member of the Ravens, Ablanedo played in 16 games and started in two... He made his first career start against Bridgeport... He scored his first career goal in the victory against Bentley (Oct. 29)... Member of the 2023 NCAA Championship team.

 

Jonas Lushok | Midfield | Copenhagen, Denmark | Monmouth

Before Bryant: Lushok is a junior transfer from Monmouth University... In his two years with the Hawks, Lushok recorded two goals and six assists while making 23 starts, including all 15 games in his sophomore year.

 

Jonah Stekly | Midfield | Cambridge, England | Coastal Carolina

Before Bryant: Stekly is a junior transfer from Coastal Carolina... As a freshman, he played in 12 games while making seven starts and recorded a career-high six shots on the season... During his sophomore campaign, he played in eight games and tallied two shots.

 

Vicente Valor | Midfield | San Juan, Alicante | Franklin Pierce

Before Bryant: Valor is a senior transfer from Franklin Pierce... During his tenure with the Ravens, Valor played in 51 games and started in 48 of them... As a sophomore, he tallied two game-winning goals and five assists... During the 2022 season, he helped Franklin Pierce secure a National Championship, where he recorded five goals and 11 assists... As a junior, he was named to the United Soccer Coaches All-East Region First Team, the D2CCA All-East Region Second Team, and the NE10 All-Conference First Team.

 

Inigo Villadea | Midfield | Gijon, Spain | San Diego State University

Before Bryant: Villadea is a senior transfer from San Diego State University... He played 32 games and made 31 starts... He tallied six goals and ten assists as an Aztec... In 2020 he was named an All-PAc 12 honorable mention... In 2021, he was named to the All-Pac 12 First Team and the United Soccer Coaches Far West Region Second Team and made the honor roll... As a junior, Villadea made the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team and was an All-Pac 12 honorable mention.
