Bulldogs finish third at MAACs

Buffalo, N.Y – The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team finished in third place at the MAAC Championships with a point total of 473.

Rider won the MAACs with a score of 725.5.

 Coach Devers Comments:

"We had another great night of great swims and great dives that helped push us further along in points. There is no other team on the deck that shows up and supports each other like this team. This weekend was an all-around success in and out of the pool, and it was amazing to be part of it."

 Notes and Notables:

  • Matthew Mays (St. Croix, Virgin Islands) finished off his week on a high note placing second in the 200 backstroke with a time of 1:45.28, which broke his own school record.
  • FuKang Wong (Johor, Malaysia) completed his sweep of the breaststroke with a gold medal in the 200 breast (1:57.52). He also set a new MAAC and school record.
  • In diving, the Bulldogs had three divers compete in the one-meter dive. Trevor Hazlewood (Corpus Christi, Texas) finished third with a score of 243.80. Teammates Benjamin Prouty (East Lyme, Conn.) and Zach Vogel (South Easton, Mass.) placed seventh (189.10) and eighth (183.15) in the same event.
  • Bryant won a total of eight medals at the MAAC championships. Five of them were gold and three were silver.
