Bryant sends four to postseason

Smithfield, R.I. – Senior Zach DiGiaro (Middletown, N.J.), juniors Matthew Mays (St. Croix, Virgin Islands), Matthew Mastroianni (Glastonbury, Conn.), and sophomore FuKang Wong (Johor, Malaysia) of the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team are all headed to the CSCAA National Invitational Championships.

DiGiaro was a part of the winning relay teams in the 200 and 400 medley relays at the MAAC Championships. DiGiaro also placed 10th in the 100 and 200 butterfly.

Mastroianni was on the relay team that placed second in the 200 freestyle relay at the MAAC Championships. Mastroianni won the "B" Final in the 100 freestyle and placed ninth overall in that event.

Mays had a great meet at the MAAC Championships. He won the gold in the 200 individual medley and placed second in the 100 and 200 backstroke while setting new school records in both events. Mays posted a time of 1:44.40 in the 200 back, which was an NCAA B Cut. He was also a member of both of the winning relays and the 200 free relay that placed second for the Bulldogs.

Wong showcased his season-long dominance of the breastroke for the Bulldogs at the MAAC Championships. Wong earned first place in the 100 and 200 breast and in both events set new MAAC and school records. His time of 1:57.52 in the 200 breast is also an NCAA B Cut. Wong was also on the relay teams in the 200 and 400 medley relay that won and the 200 free relay team that earned the silver.

The CSCAA NIC will take place from March 12-14 at Cleveland State University.
