Bulldogs Sweep NEC weekly honors

Somerset, N.J. - The Bryant University men's swimming and diving team swept the Northeast Conference weekly awards as announced by the organization on Thursday. Matthew Mays, Chase Konstantakos, and Drew Arnold all took home awards this week.

 

Mays was named the NEC Swimmer of the Week for the second week in a row. Mays won both the 50 and 100 back in the win against Providence by posting times of 26.32 and 56.72. He also was on the 200 medley and free relay teams that claimed first-place on Saturday.

Konstantakos earned the NEC Rookie of the Week for the first time in his career. The freshman won the 200 free with a time of 2:01.07 and was on the winning 200 free relay team. This is the second week in a row that a Bulldog has won this award. Fellow freshman Calvin Groenewold earned the honor last week.

Arnold won the NEC Diver of the Week award for his efforts against Providence. Arnold earned scores of 218.92 and 193.12 in the one and three-meter dive.

Fellow Bulldog Eric Bebel was recognized as an NEC prime performer. Bebel won the 100 fly (58.17) and the 100 free with a time of 53.45. He also placed second in the 50 fly (26.45).
