Mays wins Gold at Day 2 of NECs
Carlisle, Pa. - Matthew Mays of the Bryant University men's swimming and diving team won the second individual gold medal for the Bulldogs at the Northeast Conference Championships today.
Notes and Notables
- The Black and Gold started the meet the same as yesterday, with a win in the 200 medley relay. Mays, FuKang Wong, Dom Scifo, and Eric Bebel recorded a time of 1:29.54.
- Asher Stukelman and Tyler Stringfellow placed second and third in the 400 IM. Stukelman posted a time of 4:04.47, and Stringfellow touched the wall at 4:05.11.
- The Bulldogs added another second and third-place finish from Scifo (49.92) and Bebel (29.95) in the 100 fly.
- Bryant received their third silver medal of the day in the 100 breast. Wong finished with a time of 54.57.
- Mays earned the gold medal in the 100 back by posting a time of 48.17.
- The Bulldogs ended the night with a third-place finish in the 800 free relay. The team of Matthew Mastroianni, Stringfellow, Stukelman, and Chase Konstantakos combined for a time of 6:56.11.
- Bryant is in first-place with a two-day total of 663.
