Swimming and Diving Competes in Boston Tri-Meet

BOSTON, MA- The Bryant men's and women's swimming and diving teams competed at a tri-meet with Boston University and Northeastern on Saturday. Reagan Lord had two victories on the women's side while Matthew Mays and FuKang Wong picked up wins for the men. The meet was not scored.

 

Coach Cameron's Comments: "It was a tough day in terms of score. If you keep the focus on us, we swam and dove well. We did a good job of executing our race plans, and had big performances from a bunch of people."

 

Notes and Notables

  • Kyri Chambo placed seventh in both the one and three meter dives to open the meet.

  • Evan Clark and Drew Arnold came second and third in the men's three meter dive with scores of 225.4 and 218.85.

  • Arnold also came third in the one meter dive, with Ben Prouty taking home second place with a score of 230.05. 

  • The team of Mackenzie Patch, Alyvia Beaudion, Laurel Carey, and Julia Stenhard finished fourth in the women's 200 medley relay with a time of 1:48.19.

  • Bryant came second in the men's 200 medley relay, with the quarter of Matthew Mays, FuKang Wong, Dom Scifo, and Alex Rowson posting a time of 1:33.43.

  • Natalia Kuipers placed fifth in the women's 1000 yard freestyle with a time of 10:54.69.

  • Leo Luna came home with another top three finish in the men's 1000 yard free, hitting the wall at 9:49.98.

  • Charlee LeGallais was the top Bryant swimmer in the women's 200 free, posting a time of 1:57.9.

  • Alex Rowson placed fifth in the men's 200 free, with a time of 1:47.72.

  • The Bulldogs' first win of the meet came courtesy of Reagan Lord in the women's 100 yard backstroke. Lord paced the field with a time of 56.87.

  • Matthew Mays took the win in the men's 100 back (50.97). Griffin Schimmel came home second for a Bryant 1-2.

  • Alyvia Beaudion was the Bulldogs' top finisher in the women's 100 yard breast, with a time of 1:09.56.

  • Fu Kang Wong notched another win in the men's 100 breast (56.89). Calvin Groenewold hit the wall in third for Bryant.

  • Natalia Kuipers was Bryant's top swimmer in the women's 200 fly with a time of 2:16.

  • Andrew Gamper placed fifth in the men's 200 fly with a time of 2:00.13.

  • Alyvia Beaudion came in a dead heat for fifth in the women's 50 free, hitting the wall at 24.80.

  • Conner Loftsrom reached the top three in the men's 50 free, placing second with a time of 21.42.

  • Erin Doruska led the Bulldogs with a sixth place finish in the women's 100 free, posting a time of 54.35.

  • Conner Lofstrom came second again in the men's 100 free with a time of 47.72.

  • Reagan Lord won her second race of the meet in the women's 200 back, posting a time of 2:01.10, more than four seconds up on her nearest competitor.

  • Matthew Mays won again in the men's 200 back, clocking in at 1:52.62.

  • Sophia Grabman was Bryant's top swimmer in the women's 200 breast, coming home with a time of 2:35.40.

  • FuKang Wong won the men's 200 breast with a time of 2:05.92, his second victory of the meet.

  • Charlee LeGallais came sixth in the women's 500 free at 5:22.70.

  • Leo Luna came home fourth in the men's 500 free, hitting the wall at 4:49.57.

  • Julia Stenhard picked up a top three result in the women's 100 fly with a time of 58.46.

  • Dom Scifo led the Bryant men in the 100 fly with a time of 52.53.

  • Reagan Lord had another strong performance in the women's 200 individual medley, coming third at 2:10.51.

  • Matthew Mays finished second in the men's 200 individual medley with a time of 1:59.26.

  • Bryant's team of Erin Doruska, Charlee LeGallais, Laurel Carey, and Reagan Lord came seventh in the 400 free relay with a time of 3:43.28.

  • The men's 400 free relay team ended the meet strong with a second place finish. FuKang Wong, Eric Bebel, Conner Lofstrom, and Alex Rowson posted a time of 3:08.27.
