Men's Tennis finishes strong weekend with win over NJIT

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Bryant University men's tennis team rode a dominant doubles victory to a 5-2 win over NJIT on Sunday at West Point.

The Bulldogs won both matches over the weekend and are now 8-6 on the year.

Coach Gendron's Comments

"What a great win for the Bulldogs. The doubles point was as dominant as I've coached. Clinching the match quickly after was a rewarding win. Our guys were very efficient and focused all weekend."  

How it Happened

  • The Bulldogs quickly grabbed the doubles point with a 6-3 win at No. 1 and a 6-0 win at No. 2.
  • Junior Guido Argentini (Boca Raton, Fla.) and sophomore Trent Massam (Wellington, New Zealand) have now won four-straight matches together.
  • In singles, Bryant quickly closed the match with victories at No. 1, No. 6 and No. 5. The Bulldogs added a victory at No. 2 to close out the scoring.

Bryant will play three matches in three different locations this weekend. The Bulldogs will play at Binghamton and host Brandeis on Saturday and then close the weekend at Colgate on Sunday.
