Bulldogs close out ITA Northeast Championships
SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The Bryant University men's tennis team wrapped up the ITA Northeast Championships with a 3-2 record.
Senior Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) and junior Wilson Dong (Bradenton, Fla.) both posted singles victories on Saturday to wrap up play.
Coach Gendron's Comment
"Our play this weekend remains a bit inconsistent. That being said, singles play on Saturday was solid and we walk away with a 3-2 record. Plenty to work on and a solid effort. Looking forward to a busy final two weeks."
How it Happened
- Ortiz-Garcia defeated Nathan Jose from Army in the back draw, 7-5, 6-3.
- Dong defeated Rohan Gupta from Colgate in the back draw, 6-1, 6-3.
- Ortiz-Garcia and Guido Argentini (Boca Raton, Fla.) lost in the doubles tournament, 8-2.
