Bulldogs split with Army on Sunday

WEST POINT, N.Y. – The Bryant University men's tennis split a Sunday doubleheader with Army, winning the second match 5-1.

How It Happened

  • Bryant won the doubles point in the first match of the day but the Black Knights were able to win five singles matches to grab the victory.
  • Grant Pertile (Edgartown, Mass.) and Alexander Schou (Holte, Denmark) won 6-4 at No. 2 and Guido Argentini (Boca Raton, Fla.) and Trent Massam (Wellington, New Zealand) won 6-2 at No. 3.
  • Jorge Isaias Ortiz-Garcia (Trujillo Alto, Puerto Rico) grabbed Bryant's lone singles victory with a 7-6, 2-6, 6-4 win.
  • The Bulldogs won the doubles point in the second match, as well. Andrew Pregel (Cincinnati, Ohio) and Andrew Quiros (Pembroke Pines, Fla.) won 6-1 and Teague Burger (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) and Nick Lorenz (Colorado Springs, Colo.) won 6-4.
  • In singles, Massam, Pertile and Quiros were all victorious, helping Bryant close out the match.
