Bryant places six on All-NEC Men's Tennis teams

SOMERSET, N.J. -- The Bryant University men's tennis team placed six players on the All-Northeast Conference teams announced on Thursday afternoon. 

Diego Serra Sparrow earned All-NEC First Team in singles and All-NEC First Team in doubles with partner Diego Trejo. Teague Burger and Andrew Pregel earned All-NEC Second Team honors in singles, while Pregel and partner Grant Pertile earned All-NEC Second Team honors. Leonardo Mileikowsky was named to the NEC All-Rookie Team.

Serra Sparrow played at the top spot for the Bulldogs this spring, going 6-11 in dual matches and 3-3 vs NEC opponents. He picked up victories over players from St. Francis Brooklyn, FDU, Dartmouth, Richmond and LIU during the season. 

Trejo joined Serra Sparrow at the No. 1 doubles spot, combining to post a 7-7 overall record and a 5-6 record in dual matches. The duo won a pair of matches in the NEC Tournament. 

Burger and Pregel both picked up All-NEC Second Team singles nods. Burger finished the year 12-9 in dual matches, winning each of his last six matches. He was 10-6 at the No. 3 spot, winning all three of his matches in the NEC Tournament. Pregel closed his year by winning 11-straight matches, including two in the NEC Tournament. He finished 15-3 overall and was a perfect 5-0 against NEC foes. 

Pregel then joined forces with Pertile to form Bryant's No. 2 doubles team. The duo went 10-4 overall, a perfect 7-0 against league foes and closed the year with five-straight victories. That includes wins in the NEC Semis and NEC Championships.

Mileikowsky earns All-Rookie honors after posting a dominant season on the courts. He finished 21-10 overall and 15-8 in dual matches. Mileikowsky posted a perfect 9-0 record against league foes and won each of his final eight matches. He went a perfect 3-0 in the NEC Tournament, winning in three sets in the NEC Championship match.
