Bulldogs picked fifth in preseason poll

Somerset, N.J. – The Bryant University Softball team was selected to finish fifth in the Northeast Conference by the NEC head coaches on Friday afternoon.

The NEC runner-ups, LIU were selected to finish first with 7 votes followed by the defending champions St. Francis U (2) and then Sacred Heart who received one first-place vote. The rest of the top-ten is followed by Mount St. Marys, Robert Morris, CCSU, Fairleigh Dickinson, Wagner, and NEC newcomer Merrimack.

Last season the Bulldogs finished with a 13-32 overall record and were 8-8 in conference play. The Black and Gold finished fifth in the NEC, which is just outside of playoff position. This will be coach Nick French's second season as Head Coach.

Bryant will start the season on Friday, February 14th in Tucson, Arizona where they will compete in an opening day double-header against Long Beach St. and Oklahoma.

The Bulldogs will compete in their first conference game at Merrimack on Saturday, March 28th.
