Kenney and McKeveny throw combined no-hitter in win vs. Morehead St.

GREENVILLE N.C. - Kylie Kenney and Sarah McKeveny of the Bryant University softball team threw a combined no-hitter in the Bulldogs 13-2 victory over the Eagles of Morehead State on Sunday morning.

Key Moment 

  • The Black and Gold scored five runs in the top of the fourth inning.

How it Happened 

  • The Eagles scored the first run of the game on a Bulldogs throwing error in the bottom of the first inning (1-0).
  • Carlyn Hernandez hit a leadoff double in the top of the second inning. The Bulldogs then tallied three runs on two MS errors and a bases-loaded walk (3-1).
  • Alexis Clancy hit a double with one out in the top of the third inning. Olivia Fee then pinch ran for Clancy and stole third. The throw from the cache got away from the third baseman, which allowed Fee to score (4-1). The Black and Gold recorded back-to-back walks, which set up Jenna Gardner, who hit an RBI single down the left-field line (5-1).
  • In the top of the fourth inning, the Bulldogs scored two runs on a bases-loaded walk and a sacrifice fly (7-1). Toni Camarillo then cleared the bases with a double to left-center bringing the Black and Golds run total to double digits (10-1)
  • Morehead State tallied their final run of the game on a groundout during the bottom of the fourth inning (10-2).
  • Hailey Aspinwall and Hernandez hit consecutive singles in the top of the fifth inning. Fee then brought Aspinwall home on a single up the middle (11-2). Abby Trimble did the same as Fee, bringing in Hernandez for the score (12-2). Bryant recorded their final run of the game on a sacrifice fly by McKeveny (13-2).
