BRYANT PLACES 65 STUDENT-ATHLETES ON NEC ACADEMIC HONOR ROLL

SOMERSET, NJ – A total of 65 Bryant University student-athletes have been named to the Northeast Conference Spring Academic Honor Roll, including nine earning Spring Commissioner’s Honor Roll distinction. In addition, men’s tennis junior Cristian Balestrieri (Mar Del Plata, Argentina) and women’s tennis senior Chelsea Downing (Cherry Hills Village, Colo.) were recognized as NEC Spring Scholar-Athletes for 2010.

EMMITSBURGH, Md. – The Bryant University men’s and women’s track & field teams enjoyed a tremendous opening day at the 2010 Northeast Conference Track & Field Championships at Mount St. Mary’s. The Bulldogs set four new school records and sent three individuals into Sunday’s finals in two event.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – Championship season begins this weekend when the Bryant University men’s and women’s track & field teams head to Emmitsburg, Md. for the 2010 NEC Track & Field Championships this Saturday and Sunday. This will be the first time the Bulldogs will compete in the outdoor NEC championships. The teams competed at the indoor championships the past two seasons with the men and women both placing ninth at the indoor meet in February.

The three-team tri-meet, a primer for Saturday’s Bryant Invitational, consisted of teams from Bryant University, Providence College and Stony Brook.

SMITHFIELD, R.I. – The much anticipated Bryant University outdoor track & field opener scheduled for Tuesday evening has been postponed until Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. The four-team quad meet, consisting of teams from Bryant University, Providence College, Iona College and Stony Brook University, will serve as a primer for this Saturday’s big Bryant University Invitational.
